Armed Forces Pension. QROPS Pension Transfer to Avoid Paying UK Taxes
If you no longer live in the UK and you are non-resident for tax purposes and are in the Armed Forces Pension Scheme (AFPS) then you can transfer your pension into a Qualifying Recognized Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS) in order to avoid paying taxes on your pension in the UK.
If you spend less than 91 days a year in the UK, you are considered a non-resident and can apply for a QROPS pension transfer. This means members of the Armed Forces PensionScheme (AFPS) no longer need to pay any more UK taxes.
